Repack Worker

Job Title: Repack Worker
Employment Status:

Starting rate:

Primary Purpose: The Repack Worker sorts and repacks produce to provide our customers with options for their orders.

Sample of Essential Functions:

  • Lift cases and segregate produce on table to get ready for repacking.
  • Sort and discard items and foreign matter.
  • Bunch, tie and trim produce.
  • Place produce in packaging bags, cases and other containers.
  • After appropriate training, may use material handling equipment to move produce within the warehouse.
  • At all times when working in direct contact with food, food-contact surfaces, and food-packaging, conform to hygienic practices while on duty to the extent necessary to protect against contamination of food.

Receiver

Primary Purpose: This position receives, stores and distributes products within the warehouse and surrounding areas following all directives of the supervisor.

Sample of Essential Functions:

  • Accurately count and verify all units of each product being received.
  • Ensure that the product quality has been checked by a Quality Assurance team member, a supervisor, the buyer, or the Receiver if asked by the supervisor.
  • Prepare the product for put-away by: a) ensuring that the pallet is physically sound and b) properly labeling the pallet with computer-generated put-a-way pallet labels.
  • Put away product by: a) sweeping the area where the new product is to be placed; b) properly rotate inventory; c) ensuring that the oldest product is readily available for the order selectors; and/or d) following the detailed instructions of the supervisor.
  • Operates battery powered pallet jacks to transport product from the receiving shipping dock as well as from refrigerated rooms and surrounding areas.
  • Operates battery powered transporters, forklifts and non-powered material handling equipment on a regular basis.

Primary Purpose: The Commercial Delivery Route Truck Driver delivers produce and other products to General Produce customers. Provides extraordinary customer service by exceeding customer expectations. Checks, verifies, and quantifies product to customer invoice and delivers said merchandise accurately, safely and efficiently

Human Resources Business Partner

Job Title: Human Resources Business Partner

The Role:

At General Produce, there is a tremendous opportunity for the Human Resources Business Partner to make their mark on an industry leading company. You will be reporting to and partnering with the Director of Human Resources & Safety to build a world-class HR team responsible for the entire employee life cycle. The role will require significant detailed hands on efforts while offering an opportunity to be strategic and build an impactful and critical function within the organization. A successful candidate will be able to operate in a fast-paced, fluid environment and be able to ‘see the big picture’ and grow the HR function for scale.

Human Resources Processes:

  • Provides support and guidance to HR department, management team, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Develops, revises and implements HR processes, policies and procedures in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Acts as an internal consultant by analyzing and recommending solutions to human resource issues relating to the assigned program or section area.
  • Ensures program or section area is in compliance with established policies and procedures and with any relevant federal, state or local legislation.
  • Conducts periodic audits of human resource activities to ensure compliance with laws, policies and procedures.

FMLA/PFL/CFRA and LOA Management:

  • Communicates with employees regarding their needs for leave and/or modified work schedules. Ensures that employees are aware of their responsibilities and of any documentation and notice required to qualify for and to take leave.
  • Handles the FMLA leave administration process from the employee’s initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave as FMLA-qualifying, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use.
  • Maintains reasonable communication with employees on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work; relays communication between employees and their managers during leave within reason.
  • Advises managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers’ compensation, and short-term and long-term disability benefits.
  • Oversees the return-to-work process for employees returning from extended FMLA, workers’ compensation, or other leave(s).
  • Facilitates other leave requests, which may include accommodation requests under the ADA.
  • Administers other company time-off programs as assigned in accordance with internal policy and applicable laws.
  • Drafts and/or recommends revisions to company leave policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Maintains complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.
  • Preserves confidentiality of employee medical documentation and files.
  • Maintains knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, and state and local laws.

Worker’s Compensation, Accident Investigation & Interactive Process:

  • Reviews & contributes to accident reports, reviews medical reports, witness statements, department investigation results and other documentation. Contributes to compilation of facts and data regarding accident reports and filed cases.
  • Reviews documentation to determine accuracy and clarity of claims. Advises and/or assists Safety Program Manager in conducting investigation of accident reports, including interviewing of witnesses and procurement of relevant documentation.
  • Reviews accident reports to identify patterns of injury and to determine whether unsafe conditions contributed to the accident; advises departments of trends in injuries and proper safety procedures that may result in reduction of injuries; provides department with information that will aid in reducing accidents and improve safety.
  • Documents telephone conversations, witness statements, medical reports and accident investigations to support General Produce’s safety and risk management program.
  • Engages with Safety Program Manager, Worker’s Compensation Carrier, Broker and injured employee to work toward positive resolution of injuries.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment

Education and/or Experience:

  1. 5-7 years experience in the Human Resources field with progressive responsibilities
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  3. Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including FMLA/CFRA, Worker’s Compensation, employee and relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.

Primary Purpose:

The Order Selector, Production/Swing Shift selects products in the warehouse and other areas to satisfy customer orders. They also receive and store products within the warehouse and surrounding areas.

Sample of Essential Functions:

  • Read customer orders to determine items to be selected and gathered.
  • Select and move products for each order from refrigerated rooms in the warehouse and other areas.
  • Assemble ordered products by customers and place orders in pallets.
  • Check products to ensure they are all good quality products.
  • Mark orders, materials, items, or products with identifying information/labels.
  • Open bales, crates and other containers.
  • Weigh or count items for distribution to ensure conformance to customer order.

At General Produce, we have a tremendous opportunity for business development in the Southern Oregon area! General Produce is looking to add to our on an industry leading company an experienced and customer driven Outside Sales Representative as we expand North of our Mt. Shasta site location.. You will be reporting to and partnering with the General Manager of Mt. Shasta to develop new business, build and maintain customer relationships, while maintaining and increasing sales in a new territory. This role will require significant self-motivation and a knowledge of the area to engage in business development in food service and retail fresh produce. Responsibilities

New Account Marketing & Management

  • Identify potential new accounts that are beneficial and profitable to the company. Maintain a weekly sales prospect funnel.
  • Call on potential new account decision-makers and present benefits/features of a General Produce relationship.
  • Regularly follow up with potential new accounts to establish relationships.
  • Perform necessary administrative duties to establish new accounts, i.e. credit approval, complete proper forms and notify appropriate departments.
  • Train new accounts on General Produce procedures including order placement, web ordering, credit/return policy and company contacts.

Customer Service and Communication:

  • Answer questions and provide information to customers in person, by telephone, e-mail or text in response to inquiries regarding product, prices and delivery dates.

You will be reporting to and partnering with the Transportation Manager to manage all things transportation. The role will require significant detailed hands on efforts in routing, dispatch, driver management and customers. A successful candidate will be able to operate in a fast-paced, fluid environment and be able to relate and manage a fleet of route drivers.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable meeting new people frequently and have an ability to determine a candidate's potential through clever questions.
