Wawona Orchards

Wawona Orchards

WAWONA ORCHARDS & PACKING is a third generation tree fruit company founded by the Smittcamp family in 1948. They are currently farming 6,000 acres in California and pack just over four million boxes per year.

Their mission is to produce the most flavorful tree fruit in the industry, pack to the highest standards, and deliver on a consistent basis; ensuring customers the ultimate eating experience. One indicator is the gentle handling they give to tree-fruit. The fruit is hand picked and packed into 23 lb. bins rather than the standard 1000 lb. orchard bins.

Their packing facility was rebuilt in 2006, adding state-of-the-art pack lines, pre-coolers, and cold storage rooms. Controlling the continuity of supply, varietals, and quality, Wawona does not have any outside growers or packers.

Wawona also grows and packs a full line up of organic tree fruit.
